Global healthcare/pharmaceutical FMCG giant. GSK have a shared service centre in Uxbridge where they are bringing all of their European Tax operations together into this centralised function.

Job Description

*Manage the end to end migration of tax and statutory reporting activities from the local market(s) to the shared service centre; Statutory Reporting, Corporate Tax, Direct and Indirect Taxes, Transfer Pricing, and Statistical reporting

* Ensure target migrations dates are managed effectively including operation of business as usual on target and achieve stabilisation

* Manage the year-end reporting activities. Prepare and review GAAP adjustments and complete statutory accounts template, prepare consolidations, compile information required to draft statutory disclosures, co-ordinate completion of tax disclosures by KPMG, co-ordinate PwC audit and resolve queries raised. Deliver underlying documentation for the preparation of tax returns. Ensure that financial practices are in line and comply with all relevant statutory and group legislation and regulations.

* Manage the Monthly/Quarterly/Annual deliveries in terms of Statutory Reporting, Corporate Tax, Direct and Indirect Taxes, Transfer Pricing, Statistical and Healthcare Regulatory Reporting, between the fulfilling of other local Requirements and Taxes;

* Manage corporate tax compliance processes on behalf of GSK's European markets including:

* Overseeing the ownership of tax sensitive account codes to determine tax treatment (to be reviewed by KPMG) Source data required for the tax return not derived from the General Ledger or Fixed Asset register (e.g. information required to calculate R&D tax credit);

* Resolve queries raised by KPMG during tax return process and perform review of draft tax return;

* Estimate forecast profitability for the purposes of estimating interim tax payments;

* Monitor the tax accounts and reconcile balances back to tax authority records and submitted tax returns;

* Prepare withholding tax clearances and other ad hoc tax filings required;

* Monitor tax risks and review quarterly risk questionnaire (prepared by KPMG);

* Prepare and review of draft Indirect Tax and statistical returns on behalf of GSK's European markets including

* Sales, purchase and miscellaneous transaction review including invoice sampling;

* Resolution of exception items;

* Correction of errors found, including any consequent GL postings;

* Trend analysis;

* Clear and complete documentation of the above;

* Managing the process of gathering relevant financial information to calculate relevant intra group pricing of products and services;

* Carry out historical revie

The Successful Applicant

*Fluency in another Language such as French or Italian, besides German and English, would be considered as an advantage;

* Qualified/Part Qualified (CTA/ACA/ACCA/CIMA) overseas equivalents

* Experienced in statutory accounts, consolidations and differences between IFRS and German GAAP would be considered essential, preferably with an audit background. An understanding of the wider principles of Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing, Direct and Indirect Taxes, with specific knowledge of the Austrian and Swiss reality, would be considered necessary;

* Preferred Professional background: Big 4 firm or Tax Consultancy or audit company, Shared Services Centre Environment (specially in Knowledge Transfer Projects), Outsourcing, International work experience, Healthcare Sector and Manufacturing & Distribution business;

* Financial modelling skills/high level of competence using Excel, SAP would be considered as an advantage;

* Disciplined, excellent organisation, empathy & resilience towards shared service centre set ups, with capacity of working under pressure and working with tight deadlines;

* Numeracy, accuracy, attention to detail and displays initiative in solving problems;

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team and show initiative;

* Ability to communicate at all levels and manage multiple stakeholders;

* Ability to work with dispersed teams and multicultural and multifunctional teams;

* Willingness to travel during start up initially

What's on Offer

Initially a temporary (3-4 month) contract but with strong likelihood to be extended and ultimately to go permanent depending on the candidate's performance.
Daily rate of £250-£350 p/d.
