Our client is an international pharmaceutical company specializing in ophthalmology, which is looking for an Associate Director Medical Affairs (m/f/d) for Austria/Switzerland (direct responsibility), and the management of the Medical Affairs team in Germany & Nordics markets.
Aufgabengebiet
- Partners closely with Market Leaders and their teams, as well as with other company stakeholders involved in Medical/Marketing/Market Access activities to provide ongoing scientific support to business priorities
- Defines and coordinate the development and implementation of local countries medical affairs plans, in alignment with company strategies and tactical EMEA Medical Affairs Plan
- Has direct responsibility of developing and executing the country Medical Affairs Plans for the company therapy areas
- Grows and maintains high level interactions with top KOLs and fosters long term professional relations
- As a medical expert, provides therapeutic area and products trainings to internal or external stakeholders
- Provides scientific support to medical and marketing teams and activities - including review of materials, preparation of congresses, grant applications etc.

- In coordination with Clinical Operations, maintains relationships with partnering sites for clinical trials,
- Responsible for budget planning and financial discipline in scope
Anforderungsprofil
- Veterinarian, pharmacist, natural sciences, or HCP background with experience in similar position in pharmaceutical company
- Experience in Medical Affairs in a customer facing position
- Previous experience as part of a cross-functional, international team
- Preferably experience in managing various stakeholders in healthcare ecosystems
- Knowledge of applicable compliance, quality & pharmacovigilance preferred
- Ophthalmology experience (desired) / Mixed experience (pharmaceuticals, OTC's, medical devices) preferred
- Experience in handling data from clinical trials (Phase I-IV) and its interpretation
- Proven people management skills desirable
- Good organizational skills, strong team and customer orientation, excellent teaching skills as well as increased communication skills
- Fluency Business English and German
