You will have an International focus and German-speaking countries as your key market, working closely with the partners/directors on a combination of existing clients and new client wins.

Clients will range from start-ups to large international groups and operate in numerous sectors

ranging from technology, retail and manufacturing to business services and construction.

The majority of our DACH-owned client base are successful privately owned businesses

(Mittelstandsgesellschaften) that have expanded internationally.You will also have opportunities to get involved in business development both in the UK and overseas.

  • Plan, control and review client work to ensure that the jobs are completed as efficiently and

effectively as possible by allocating the resources available.

  • Prepare fee schedules and bill for review and approval, explaining any extra charges also

identifying and explaining any write offs or profits.

  • Brief audit or accounts staff on the client and the nature of its business ensuring that the

most cost-effective approach to the job is clearly communicated.

  • Carry out debrief and provide feedback at end of assignments to partners/directors and the team.
  • Review all work received as soon as possible, ensuring that any issues arising are referred to

the audit staff for completion before any outstanding issues are escalated to partner/director level

  • Ensure, as far as possible that trainees are allocated a variety of jobs to provide a broad

range of training and maximise their experience.

  • Complete staff review forms after the end of each job identifying any areas needing further development and giving feedback to ensure improved future performance.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services that the company can provide to clients
  • Identify and target new clients through networking, marketing and client referrals.
  • Provide technical advice to audit staff, ensuring that briefing takes place for all jobs, discussing planning, how the job is going, what is expected of them and any review points

  • Experience of working in a similar capacity within a practice. If not UK ACA/ACCA qualified, willingness to obtain relevant UK qualification.
  • You must speak German fluently/at business level and have a strong interest in using your language capabilities in your day-to-day work (both oral and written).
  • UK GAAP and/or IFRS experience
  • Experience at manager level is required; to include portfolio management and coaching of junior team members
  • Enjoy working closely with the partners/directors. This could involve participation in identifying new business opportunities, networking events, new client pitches and the preparation of collateral specifically targeted at the German speaking countries
