Our client, a Swiss company with a B2B retail focus, is in the region of Basel and we are currently looking for a detail-oriented Operations Manager to start as soon as possible. The industry focus is within a very niche market offering professional goods.


As an Operations Manager, you will be supporting the business with all related duties linked to importing and wholesaling to resellers or/and to end users.

The responsibilities of the selected candidate will be focusing on topics linked to Supply Chain and Customer Service, below the duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of customer service coordinators
  • Coordinate the day-to-day supply chain operation
  • Supervise and analysis of product availabilities and inventory management within the warehouse
  • Control on time delivery of the shipments
  • Support the team with quality controls
  • Coordinate various projects together with internal and external stakeholders
  • Optimize and monitor the supply chain processes
  • Track and monitor inbound shipments as well as reprioritizing outbound needs
  • Develop of various supply chain operations
  • Manage the supplier portfolio and coordinate & lead the negotiations
  • Manage communication between various departments such as customer service, planning teams and marketing


The successful candidate brings an allrounder supply chain management profile, whilst being able to dive to into the world of animal husbandry and learn about the range products. Additionally, the ideal candidate also has:

  • Successfully completed a bachelor's in supply chain
  • 4 - 6 years of experience in distribution and logistical operations within an international environment (experience within the FMCG industry is desired) covering duties such as import & customs declaration, forecasting & stock management, and handling orders & invoicing
  • Good understanding of end-to-end supply chain, master data and financial processes
  • Solid understanding of MS Office Suit, especially expertise within Excel and PowerPoint is required
  • Solid work experience with Dynamics 365 is a requirement
  • Self-starter individual, who gets things done in a simple way with a good level of analytical skills
  • Proactive personality with a can-do attitude and attention to detail
  • Professional appearance, a team player and ability to communicate in a simple and structured way
  • Communicates well with senior business leaders and stakeholders and can switch and translate easily between process/system terminology and business language
  • Fluency in English and Swiss - German (oral and written) is essential, French would be a big plus
  • Traveling a few times a year within Switzerland and abroad (Customers, suppliers, sister companies and trade fairs)

In order to perform this position at its best capacity the ideal candidate is located closed to Basel region.
